Apply for Internships in Data Science

Undergraduates at Santa Barbara City College and Cal State San Bernardino are encouraged to apply for summer research internships in data science. Interns will work alongside UCSB faculty on select projects. The program will run from June 20, 2021 through August 14, 2021.

Interested applicants from SBCC should have finished at least one year of classes, including 6-12 semester units in Mathematics and/or Computer Science. Applications are open to any major.

Students from CSUSB should be current sophomores and juniors with an interest and background in data science.

All participants will receive a stipend, provided by the National Science Foundation. Internships will include professional development training and end with a poster presentation of accomplished work.

Do not wait to apply. Applications must include a statement of interest, a resume, and a letter of recommendation. The online application will close March 15, 2021. Program organizers will begin notifying awardees in mid-April. 

Due to complications from the COVID-19 pandemic, internships will be remote. We are committed to promoting diversity within STEM fields. Women, underrepresented minorities, and individuals from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
