Fellowship Applications for 2021-2022 Now Open
Applications for Data Science Fellowships at UCSB and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, for 2021-2022.
The Central Coast Data Science Partnership welcomes applications for fellowships in data science at UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo during the 2021-2022 academic year. Selected students will receive a $5,000 stipend as they serve as ambassadors for the blossoming data science programs at their respective campuses. In 2020, which was the first year of the Central Coast Data Science Partnership, 42 students received fellowships. Faculty anticipate another 40 awards to be made in 2021. Fellowships are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation's Harnessing the Data Revolution program.
Although specific program activities differ from campus to campus, all fellows are paired with faculty mentors and all fellows participate in year-long research projects related to data science. Fellows also foster their local data science community through outreach activities and work with local data science institutions, nonprofits, and companies. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. We are committed to promoting diversity in all areas of data science.
